January 31, 2012 - Building Media, Inc., (BMI) an online training and education company based in Wilmington, Delaware, and Dupont have agreed in principle to the terms of a sale that will result in Building Media, once again becoming a privately held firm. Today’s announcement will allow the company to expand to other markets, increase investment in core business technology and serve a broader array of clients and customers.
Building Media merged with Dupont in 2004 and has operated as a wholly owned subsidiary of the Building Innovations business for the past seven years. Building Media has grown into the premier education and training company serving the construction industry. Some of Building Media’s clients include, the California Energy Commission (CEC), the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and numerous leading building product manufacturers and associations. In addition, Building Media is the lead agency for the Building America Retrofit Alliance (BARA), a Building America research team focused on deployment strategy’s for the Department of Energy’s EERE program.
The company will continue to provide Duont Building Innovations businesses with training and technical support and will now offer independent education services to the business.
